Riots As Police Shoot School Girl In The Head

A prison warder has shot and critically injured a secondary school student in Migori
The girl reportedly from St. Albert’s Ulanda Girls was shot in the head  when the prison warders were pursuing an escaped inmate.
The incident has immediately sparked riots in Migori town.
The form two students was watching a handball game at the Migori Boys’ Secondary School.
Area MP Junet Mohamed has condemned the incident describing it as despicable and inexcusable.
Junet has called for quick action against the warder
“The little we expect is that thorough investigations be done and those found to have abdicated their roles to face the full force of the law,” he said.
“We continue to urge law enforcement agencies particularly in Nyanza to temper their use of lethal force with reason and moderation,” he added.
